Course Overview

This Biochemistry BSc course provides the practical skills necessary for a career in biochemistry, along with a solid understanding of biological molecules, metabolic processes, and the transfer and processing of information in living systems. Additionally, students have the chance to participate in a 15-week work placement as part of the program.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, applicants will require the following:

  • a minimum of 112 points from A levels including a C in Biology or Human Biology (or a minimum of 112 UCAS points, or an equivalent Level 3 qualification) or EU/Overseas high school diploma

  • English Language and Mathematics GCSE at grade C (grade 4) or pass the University tests

English Language Requirements

English certificates equivalent to GCSE

  • IELTS Overall score required 6.0, and minimum 5.5 in each component

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic with minimum 59 in each component

  • Cambridge C1 Advanced, formerly Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) – grade C and above

  • Cambridge C2 Proficiency, formerly Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE) – grade C and above

  • LanguageCert International ESOL Exam B2 LRWS with minimum 33 in each component

  • TOEFL Overall score required 72, inlcuding Listening: 17, Reading: 18, Writing: 17, Speaking: 20
